7-6-2012 TO 8-6-2012 OK GUYS The drive from jasper to Whistler was around 10 hours with a stop at DQ (fast food chain) we saw a whole different side of BC we went from Jasper south to Kamloops (the Nowra of BC) then across the 97c (HWY) west to Cache creek then south down the 99 HWY to Lillloote then along a windy road to Whistler where we saw two bears on the road. (It’s real weird seeing a big black hairy thing standing in the middle of the road in front of you!! ‘Your thinking Bigfoot? Bear?’) From north of Kamloops down to Lilloote it’s real dry. South of Kamloops is all farm land, towns were real small (hicks and free running horses ) a lot of Ranch’s and every home had no less then three old pre 1970’s cars/trucks rotting away in the front yard.(Chev, Ford, Dodge ect) its was so hard not to pull in and offer a few bucks for a car and ship it home. We finally made it to Whistler around 10pm. (dark) Where we then worked out there is no RV parks (real posh, Hiltons ect) all we wanted was a hot shower that we did not have to hold the bottom in every 30 sec and a soft bed with pillows (not much to ask for) there were no Maccas parks around so we sent in the girls in to the first hotel we saw. With Sam and I sitting in RV, we cracked a beer thinking about the price of the room we were going to pay for. After what felt for ever Jen came running out (with a skip in her step) we have a room !!!! She then told us that the girl behind the desk is Aussie and she has up graded us to the top floor in a loft room for each couple for only $120 a night WOW!!! We parked the beast. And checked out the room WOW WOW WOW this SHITS (excuse my French) over any thing I have ever stayed at in Sydney!!!! Fire place, TV, big hot shower, PS3, then up stairs to the bed room a big king bed with two pillows each, then out on to our own decking over looking Mt Whistler and bath robes PIMPING!!1 haha after the girls ran from room to room for a few hours we went to bed. The next morning we got up feeling refreshed and relaxed, we went down stairs had a coffee and a look around ‘BEAUTIFUL’ town. The Town is full of push bikes the ski lifts in the summer turn in to bike lifts, so about every second person are on down hill bikes!! and these guys & girls can ride We looked around at the old 2010 winter Olympic parks and then went in and booked ATV riding on MT Blackcomb . Chris our guide picked us up and took us out to the shop, we got suited up (rain gear, helmets, gloves) the bikes were 450 cc 4x4 Hondas He took us down to a test track to see how we rode with the girls on the back. Happy with Sam and mine efforts, off we went out into the pine frost snow covered tracks it was AWESOME and we even saw another bear (we are becoming bear experts) after we headed down the MT he said he will take us to a loop track they had cut in to the forest it was F-ING AWESOME!!! I remember looking back at Sam and Jen and Sam had the ATV on the back wheels heading up the hill and Jen laughing her head off!!! All and all we had a BALL!!!!! After this we soaked in the hot tub for some time letting the girls muscles relax (after hanging on so well) then are awesome dinner and early night. And here I am now (9-6-2012) typing the blog sarah asleep up stairs and me watching the fog lift on Mt Whistler check out at 11 then back to the RV park out side town
