WHISTLER SAN DIEGO HERE WE COME

10-6-2012 to 11-6-2012 Hey guys Last two days in Canada (Whistler) have been great, we moved in to the river side RV park on the 9th. It’s a real nice park ( a bit up market to what we were use to) concrete slab wiiFi , table & chairs, good hot showers and we even got some much need washing done ( sarah only packed 3 pairs of sock and 4 undies, you do the math) . we had a real lazy day just chilled in town, shopping and looking around. We sat down at a pub for a few beers over looking a big rock drop off that the bike riders were hitting, (there was even a guy in a down hill WHEEL CHAIR crazy) they were some real good riders. After that we moved on to another pub to have some tea and watch the 5th game of ice hockey (we all opted to have salad as a side of what ever we ordered) the next day (10-6-2012) we took a drive out to were Rach (sam’s sis) used to live in CREEK SIDE WHISTLER about 10mins from town, real beautiful area its where the locals live. As we pulled out a old guy waved as down and we pulled us over. He just want to make sure we were not lost (people around here are so friendly) We got talking with him and told us some nice roads to take that a not on the map around Whistler. So off we went, we stopped in at the 2010 winter Olympic village and took this back road into town, where we had the best bear encounter yet only 10 meters from us !!!! (taking our bear total to 6 ) we have heard of people that have been on paid bear tours and have not even seen one bear.. after that we decided to do the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola tour/ride. This goes up to the top of Mt Whistler then across to Mt Blackcomb. This is the world’s longest unsupported/ free span lift of its kind in the world and also the highest. Crossing time is 11 mins at 7.5 meters per second (total dis 4.4 km) highest point is 436 meters it has 28 Gondolas (track ropes a 2 x 56mm thick and 4600 meters long) views are breathtaking. The snow fields were closed but the cover looked better then perisher on a good day.. We snapped a few photo, Sam attacked the girls with snow balls and we made our way back down. On the MT Whistler side the down hill bikers ride 100’s of different tracks under you as you make your way down, and guess what?? We saw another BEAR!!!! (I know its getting old) but its just as exciting as the first time you see one . Being our last night in Canada we decided to do the hole camping thing ‘cook out’ marsh mallows, salami and camp fire. Jen said she would cook us spaghetti with garlic bread OH YEAH!!! It was BEAUTIFUL !!!! Sam earlier that day tip the guy at the desk real well, so when we got back to camp there was a big pile of fire wood sitting there ready to go!!! (Needless to say we ate a feast and had a cracking fire) we got up around 6 am (11-6-2012) to leave for Vancouver needed to have the RV back for 10 and fly out to Seattle at 2. So here we are at Seattle airport (4.24pm) waiting for the next flight to takes us down to san Diego and a two day stay at the (Hilton bay side Google it) off to the zoo and sea world tomorrow, then off to Yosemite National park on (14-6-2012) Cya for now xxxx much love the gang
