FORKS OREGON COAST

Hey guys

Sorry for the late updates, in the last 72 hours we have drove 37 of them in this time. (needless to say we a over being inside the RV). We left Yosemite at 5am on the 16-6-2012, drove through Sacramento CA, crossed the border about 8 hours later into Oregon. Went through Medford OR , Eugene and Salem, then hit Portland OR as you cross the river you enter Washington State about 6 hours later we stoped at Centraila OR. (With in 3 hours of Canada)  Then the next day (17-6-2012) left a small RV park for Forks Washington State (twilight town). We made it there around 4 hours later.

Forks is just like the movie, wet, raining, dark depressing!  With glitter skin pepole and Werewolves running around with no tee shirts on….. well maybe not that last part.

We pulled up at the welcome to Forks sign, waited our turn (that’s right ‘waited our turn’) and took some photos with it. As we were doing that a Twilight tour bus pulled up and picked up a fresh batch of Twihards. We had a look in the near by information centre were they had the original pick-up that Bella drove through out the movies. Inside they had a few cardboard cut outs of the hole cast few more photos there. We missed the last tour bus so Sam grabbed a map and took us on our own tour through the town. Just about every shop has capitalised on the whole twilight scene (there was even a guy selling twilight fire wood???) even the gas station selling souvenirs. 

We checked out the high school (GO SPARTANS) Chief swans, and the Cullen houses. Didn’t make it to the LaPush (where Jacob is from).

With the girls all smiles and all twied out we started our next 5 hour leg back down the coast of Oregon heading for a little town called Cannon Beach. The whole coast is beautiful on one side of you there is big red wood mossy forest pushing right on to the edge of the road and the other the cold Pacific Ocean with waves crashing against the shore and large cliff faces it’s amazing..(top place to ride a bike along) we made it to Cannon Beach about 5 hours later with a stop at Sasquatch Wings and Pizza ( top stuff) Cannon Beach is a real beautiful town, only small, they filmed the surfing scene out of twilight there and the supposedly bells shots out of the movie Point Break. We got up today 18-6-2012 had a look around town (checked the local surf shop out full of 5x6 mm steamers for those of you that don’t surf we only use 3x2 mm steamers at home) and hit the road around 12ish heading for Crescent City just over the board in to California (Greg Noll 50’s surf legend lives there)  it should take around 9 hours after this stop we will be able to relax the driving and take our time cant wait!!!!!!!!
